I'm so tired of badly written erotica. As if none of us care what we are reading. It's almost insulting. And the truth is: When something is well written, it is usually WAY hotter. This author does great sex scenes and, while it took me a bit to warm up to the heroine, I thought the characters were interesting and magical. It was a retelling of myth, put into today's context, which was great.The not-as-wonderful parts: I found the heroine quite arrogant in the beginning--it's one thing to be beautiful, but another to talk about it repeatedly. I understand it goes along with the story, but I did find it a tad too much. Also, I wish what the author called 'magical realism' was pushed slightly more. In college, I read a ton of magical realism. It doesn't always work, IMO. This story would lend itself easily to an outright paranormal vibe versus a subdued magical vibe. And I wish the author had just gone for it.
But aside from that, the novella was very good. I really wanted to know what was going to happen, Eric (the hero) seemed truly godlike in wisdom and a few other ways, and the sex was kickin'. Nice read.

A bit of a mythical merry-go-round with an HEA! Disclosure I read this book as part of a boxed set but wanted to review it separately as well.
New twist on an old Greek myth. Annie goes on a search for Eric after one night together. His mother sends her on numerous errands in order to find him. Cute story keeps you wondering what will happen next. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I received this book in an ARC copy of the 10-Book set "Love Charms A Paranormal Romance Boxed Set" for an honest review. This is a very quick & spicy whirlwind romance! Annie and Eric's story was full of twists, turns and hot sex! I enjoyed it but would have like a bit more to the ending because I loved their story!
Called "the pretty one" in the family, Annie surpasses both Chloe and Rebecca in looks. Her sisters are married. She's alone and without a special man in her life-that is until Eric. He's perfect. Come hell or high water, Annie's not giving up until she finds him again.
Selena Kitt wickedly wields her pen with finesse in this contemporary version of Cupid and Psyche that is oh so sleek, smart and hip. With a story like Blind Date, I couldn't go wrong. The intro starts off mysterious, explodes into hot eroticism and catapults Annie off into a series of trials and tasks featuring a fascinating roster of remarkable characters. Ms. Kitt has her lascivious way with this mythological classic and it's all fresh and downright inventive. There's humor, intrigue and danger lurking around every corner when Annie/Psyche attempts to track down Eric/Cupid. And as expected, the poor darling is constantly waylaid by his scheming mother. I appreciated the surprise ending that was not quite a shocker (after having read the original tale) but worked brilliantly as a plot twist. The imagery, metaphor and well-researched Greek and historical references make for an excellently written variation of a story that's as timeless as Love.

this book started out as I expected but the rest of the book surprised me in a good way, the character development was more complex than I expected and left me wanting more
Annie goes to her sister for a valentines party to be match made there .. but finds more about her future with a man who is very different Greek Mythology is in this book and how Selena adds this to her story is very interesting and Amazing to find out what type of Greek Myths she adds well buy the book and see how Eric and Annie meet as well as what secrets he holds from Annie .. until next read and review read on and read more by Selena Kitt
I'm torn. I like romance with a mythical theme, and the preview mentioned that this book was a modern day take on the story of Psyche and Eros, so I was psyched (no pun intended). I liked the story, which I why I rounded up to a 4 start, but it felt pretty forced at some points to make it fit the myth. I finished, the H and h got their happy ending, but I was left scratching my head.
